About Thomas Wind, D.O.
As a doctor of Osteopathy as well as a Board-Certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist, Dr. Wind looks at the whole person. Although other medical professionals often seek his advice on medication management for their patients, Dr. Wind realizes the importance of other forms of treatment, including psychotherapy. He was one of the first psychiatrists in this area to recognize and utilize genetic testing and nutritional/supplemental approaches to treating patients. His passion to find new and better ways to help people is why he is excited to offer TMS. His years in practice have shown him depression is often at the root of many other disorders. He knows alleviating depression can make a monumental difference in a patient’s life.
During his more than 25 years of psychiatric practice, Dr. Wind has worked in psych emergency, inpatient hospitals, partial programs, clinics, a variety of institutional settings, group practices, and as a consultant to multiple school districts. He also has over 20 years of private practice.
He received his child and adolescent psychiatric training at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia; his adult psychiatric training at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia; his D.O. training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Des Moines University, Iowa. He received his B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley and studied comparative neuroanatomy at Humboldt State University, Arcata, California. He is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
